Cocooned in bucolic Umbria lies Villa Monte Solare, one of the region\u2019s most romantic boltholes. The once private home of an aristocratic family, the history of Villa Monte Solare can be traced back as far as 1780; today it is now a luxury spa resort. It embodies rural living with irrepressible Italian charm as all the original features have been preserved including the murals, ancient cotto floors and period furniture.<\/p>\n

The sumptuous 25-bedroomed villa, close to neighbouring Perugia, is remarkably spacious and romantic, with each room lavished with beautiful furnishings and unfettered panoramic views of the rolling Umbrian hills. Lie on one of the jade green and wooden vintage-style sun loungers and soak up the idyllic vision of vineyards, olive groves, cypress trees and neighbouring medieval villages.<\/p>\n

In addition to 80 hectares of land, there are 3000 olive trees at the Villa, some dating to over 200 years old. Numerous activities are offered here, including biking, hiking, truffle hunting, wine tasting, olive oil tasting and cooking classes (which are held in the Villa\u2019s on-site kitchen, created specially for guests).<\/p>\n
