A mix of design and creativity, plus a touch of glamour and a taste for fashion: this is RARIS, Italian handmade fashion jewellery and design accessories.<\/p>\n

Raffaella Calabrese, Stefano Ricci and Cristina Spinella are the creative brains behind the Raris success. They had been working for many years as freelance designers for luxury international brands, before deciding that the time had come to launch a new concept of luxury, where creativity and design combine.<\/p>\n

Raris fashion jewels – anallergic and 100% nickel free – are designed and hand-assembled in Italy, each piece unique and different. The metal is brass, plated in four different colour ways, yellow or rose gold, white rhodium or black ruthenium. Other materials include natural gemstones, crystals and recycled glass beads with some differing shapes and hues in colour.<\/p>\n

A\/W 09\/10 is dedicated to contemporary women; each piece is a design statement, still being very easy to wear. Earrings in particular are very light, some like a lace cut-out, with dangling faceted crystals. The collection is inspired by the ancient Cosmatesque pavements of Santa Maria in Cosmedin Rome and by the romantic Tudor rose.<\/p>\n

Raris is available from a selected number of fashion boutiques in Rome and Milan, London plus regional independent stores in smaller towns. From October 09, the V&A museum store will stock Raris.<\/p>\n
