ANOUSKA HEMPEL DESIGN

HEMPEL HOUSE & HOTELS is a new interior design collection, inspired by the hotels Anouska Hempel has created around the world. For years, her rooms have been loved and revered for their calm and intimate shelter in many of the world's capital cities and you can now enjoy a little bit of Hempel at home! Alongside the ambiance of the furniture used in Hôtel Monsieur George in Paris, the range also includes iconic products from the Franklin Hotel in London and the Duxton Reserve in Singapore. Love your house a bit more while we're unable to travel to these places, by adding a touch of Hempel to your home. Furniture, furnishings, fittings, fans, lights, lamps and mirrors are just some of the treasures and bespoke pieces, made painstakingly by hand for the HEMPEL HOUSE & HOTELS collection. Alongside other leading names from across the design industry, Anouska Hempel has also been announced as a judge for the Dezeen Awards 2021, recognised as the ultimate accolade for architects and interior designers across the globe.

M/Y Oasis, with interiors by FM Architettura

FM ARCHITETTURA

Co-founded by architect and superyacht interior designer Francesca Muzio in 2010, FM Architettura was born from her extensive work on no less than 112 of the most prestigious superyachts in the world. Muzio's impressive credentials have led to her joining the star-studded judging panel for the Dezeen Awards 2021, alongside other leading names from across the design industry.

A world leader in the field of interior design, FM Architettura has continued to raise the bar in superyacht innovation with the realisation of the refit of the 59.4 metre Oasis. A combination of beautiful craftsmanship and sleek, cutting-edge design has seen Oasis win the Refitted Yacht award at the Boat International World Superyacht Awards, which took place towards the end of 2020. For further information, click here.

Originally built by Lürssen in 2006, the brief was to transform this timeless yacht into a family retreat, conceived with all family members in mind to gather, across all generations, in one place
a unique place where everyone would enjoy their life onboard, friends and guests included. Every space therefore needed to be reinterpreted into multi-purpose areas, whilst leaving the structure of the yacht untouched. Work began on the two-stage operation in March 2018, and in spite of the complexity of the project, Oasis was delivered on time and on budget in April 2019.

FM Architettura have two other refit projects that they are currently working on, with the superyachts Eileen and Como due to be launched in Spring 2021. Watch this space....

FM Architettura has been announced as lead interior designer for M/Y NJORD

M/Y NJORD

Ocean Residences Development Ltd. has appointed FM Architettura as lead interior designer for M/Y NJORD, the ultimate private residential yacht at sea. The appointment of award-winning architect and superyacht designer Francesca Muzio, co-founder of FM Architettura, affirms the dedication of M/Y NJORD to create a new language of luxury on board for their discerning residents. FM Architettura will be working closely with Espen Øino, the primary naval architect for M/Y NJORD, who is responsible for the overall design of the superyacht. Together, their vision will reveal residences of the most outstanding specifications and finish, for an audience looking to move into a different kind of lifestyle and discover a home where every detail has been custom-designed. Technology will be integrated into the designs and state-of-the-art facilities, but the true core pillars of FM Architettura’s interiors are the four classical elements.

Says Muzio: “I like to consider these four elements in my designs
earth, air, fire and water. Earth to me is the use of wood in our designs, be it in the bespoke furniture, flooring or structural partitions, and the air is the lightness around the interiors created by using handmade carpets and bespoke woven textiles which lead the eye around the space. The fire comes into the accents with bespoke bronze furniture, glass or the lighting which we use to punctuate the rooms. And lastly: water. The all-important element, to ensure the flow and balance of the design comes together in its entirety, as these are homes which must have a sense of place.”
M/Y NJORD is additionally joining forces with world-renowned health wellness pioneer, Chenot, to deliver science-based wellbeing experiences centred on the legendary Chenot Method® and offering the very best in 21st century health and wellness on board the superyacht.

Chenot will operate from M/Y NJORD to offer a world-class medical spa facility, alongside their extensive health and wellness programmes. Their services include transformative wellbeing treatments, individually tailored holistic routines and preventative therapies, all based on the Chenot Method®. Located on Deck 10 with stunning open-ended panoramic views, this 930 sq. m facility is set within the signature Chenot interiors of modern understated luxury.  For further information, click here.
